A “renewal” is coming for those who rest in the grave. God will never lose track of a single one of His children. We may die and return to the dust, but the record of our individuality remains clear in the mind of God. Our “life is now hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3), and He will raise us from death as surely and completely as He did Lazarus.

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:4.

The righteous dead will awaken from their sleep when Jesus comes.

We do not want you to be ignorant about THOSE WHO FALL ASLEEP, OR TO GRIEVE LIKE THE REST OF MEN, WHO HAVE NO HOPE. . . . For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and THE DEAD IN CHRIST WILL RISE FIRST. After that, WE WHO ARE STILL ALIVE and are left WILL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. THEREFORE ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER WITH THESE WORDS.
1 Thessalonians 4:13, 16-18.
