- Study the Bible
- Become acquainted with nature
- Spend time in prayer
- No aimless, idle time
- No corrupting associations
- Keep door closed to tempter
- Do not consent to any wrong
- Be wise to discern evil
- Be strong to resist evil
- Do not shirk care and responsibility
- Do not become full of worldly cares
- Reserve time for heavenly things
