Notice two or three scriptures which will call our attention to the thought that heaven has been affected, and is still affected, by God's plan of salvation. Sin has affected more than this world, and more than this world depends upon God's plan of salvation.
In his epistle to the Ephesians, Paul says, "Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times, He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth; even in Him." Ephesians 1:9, 10. "For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." Colossians 1:19, 20.
It may seem, at first thought, somewhat strange that there should be anything in heaven needing to be reconciled by the blood of His cross, but so it says. God's plan of salvation extends further than reconciling those that are on the earth. There is something to be reconciled that has to do with things in heaven.
