Gleanings from the Psalms

Chapter 92

Psalm 43: The Light That Leads to God's Sanctuary

The children of Israel were led in the desert by a cloud from which the light shone forth in the darkness of night. Thus they were taught that they were being delivered, guided, and protected by the power that in the beginning caused the light to shine out of darkness. "Oh, send out your light and your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me unto your holy hill, and to your tabernacles." (Psalm 43:3)

It was to this place that God was leading Israel, for Moses, after crossing the Red Sea, sang: "You shall bring them in and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance; in the place, O Lord, which You have made for You to dwell in; in your sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established."
