"Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart." (Psalm 97:11)
When we sow a thing we expect it to multiply and increase. So the Lord has sown gladness for the believer, that it may spring up continually.
When we represent Christ in us, it will be by our gladness for the truth He has given us:
• Not what we see, but what we know;
• Not what our reason has been able to trace out, but that which our faith has laid hold of and brought into the very life.
It will not be a forced gladness, but the springing up of the joy of the life of Christ.--Present Truth, March 1, 1894--Psalm 97:11.
