When Moses came down from the mount, where he had been for forty days receiving commandments for the people, he did not know that "the skin of his face shown while He talked with him." (Exodus 34:29)
The Hebrew is, literally, "in His talking with him." It was in the talking that the light shone forth from the face of Moses, like the sun's rays. In this we have a vivid illustration and demonstration of the truth expressed in: "The entrance of your words gives light." (Psalm 119:130) "The commandment is a lamp; and the law is light." (Proverbs 6:23)
The righteousness of God's people is the keeping of the law: "And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us." (Deuteronomy 6:29)
And thus it is that those who now hide the Word of light in their hearts will, when the Lord appears: "shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew 13:43)--Present Truth, December 4, 1902--Exodus 34:29
